for making financial decisions -- an important life long skill.

SAVINGS FOR KIDS

�Seaport Seal Pups�

Seaport Credit Union offers a special Savings Program for our youngest members. �Seaport Seal Pups� is especially designed for pre-school aged children and their parents.You can open an account with a $25.00 deposit into a share savings account in your child�s name. This will be a joint account. You will need to bring in your child�s social security number and card, as well as the parent�s social security number and card.

WHAT IS A SHARE ACCOUNT?

A Share Account is your primary savings account, and your money will earn interest.

When you open an account, your child will be given a Seaport Seal Pup Coin folder. Once the folder is filled with 20 quarters, we will deposit the $5.00 into your child�s share statement account. As the Seaport Seal Pup Account grows, Seaport will reward your child with a variety of educational coloring and activity books, stickers and crayons. We make savings fun at Seaport Credit Union.

SCHOOL YOUTH PROGRAM AND FINANCIAL LITERACY

ABC�s for Savings

Seaport Credit Union has a long standing savings program for Pre-K students through eighth grade called �Teach Your Children to Save� with St. Joseph School. A representative from Seaport Credit Union goes to the school and picks up the student deposits on a scheduled basis. Each time a student makes a deposit during the school year, his or her name is entered into a raffle for a grand prize drawing at the end of the school year!

IN ACTION SAVINGS

Field Trips, Tours, Lessons, Activity Sheets

Seaport Credit Union has teamed up with Horace Mann Laboratory School in Salem. Field trips are scheduled during the school year where the students and their teachers tour the credit union and get a first hand look at how a credit union works. The students learn how to fill out a deposit slip, use the night deposit box, go into the safe deposit vault, and see how the drive up window works. A team of Seaport Credit Union staff visits a classroom and teaches six, 30 minute lessons from how to open an account to calculating interest on a savings account.

ADDITIONAL YOUTH PROGRAMS

Every year, Seaport Credit Union sponsors a Youth Essay contest in partnership with the Credit Union League of Massachusetts. All students who participate are awarded certificates and those who are awarded prizes from the League will receive a $50 Savings Bond from Seaport Credit Union.

ANNUAL BOOK DRIVE AND YOUTH WEEK

"STASH YOUR CASH" Youth Week Theme

During the month of April, Seaport Credit Union holds an Annual Book Drive in cooperation with the Credit Union League of Massachusetts. In addition to this "Let's Make a Difference" collection for new and used books. Seaport Credit Union also hosts Youth Week, in cooperation with CUNA. This year's theme is "Stash Your Cash". Every Day during Youth Week is is filled with events and activities including coloring pages, jelly bean raffles, and a special visit from Slugger, the Spirit Mascot!

STUDENT PRODUCTS AND SERVICES

College Students

Seaport Credit Union supports our young adults, and makes it affordable and convenient to save with us! Seaport Student Checking is a free checking account for college students, with no minimum balance. Our ATM allows for withdrawals as low as $5, and is located by our drive up window, in the rear parking lot.
